Subliminal Advertising

Derren Brown is a very clever man. Albeit a little bit weird. If you’ve been watching Channel4 recently you’ll have probably seen his “backwards advert”. He plays on the power of suggestion, and it’s pretty powerful… anyone remember ‘the Heist’ where he ‘persuaded‘ a normal person to commit an armed robbery?!

So this is the advert. It’s advertising a new show/experiment he’s doing called ‘The Events’. Anyway, everything is going backwards, which makes the things going forward stick out in your mind… I wanted to buy a lottery ticket after! Subliminal messages are clearly pretty powerful!

    There are loads of clues and hidden competitions on his blog.. they’ve also hinted about jewels. Some people think it’s about winning in the lottery – the numbers on the pole, and the advertisement on the bus. Maybe he’s found a way to “beat the system”?

    I’ve heard he’s been filming in Manchester recently – also there is the reversed Manchester United advertisement on the wall.

    Ive seen the backwards stuff on the blog too. There must be subliminal hints & stuff on there, but what are they putting in our heads?

    I am browsing the internet for answers about Derren Brown and came to this site as well. Thanks for clearing some questions i had, and that Blog you refer to is amazing, and freaky at the same time!!

    But does anyone of you know what this Jewel Heist has to do with Derren Brown? I can´t figure it out, hmpf :(

    Theres loads of references to the recent jewel heist and the Hope Diamond. Some ppl have also pointed out all the ppl that are reading or carrying newspapers in the ad as being significant too?! is derren actually controlling the news of these past few months? i mean… its highly coincidental all these news bout the jewellery heist huh? im becoming increasingly paranoid and worried! :P

    I’m more intrigued by the lottery thing. People commented they are going to play those numbers – let’s see how that goes. Would be fun if these are the right ones and the winner only get a pound each ;)
